Water is an indispensable resource of our planet which, however, is being wasted improperly. An intelligent way to optimize water consumption is represented by the rainwater recovery. Retrieve therain water in fact, it means avoiding water waste related to the use of drinking water even when it could be avoided.

Rainwater recovery, its use

  • It can be used for the irrigation of vegetable gardens and gardens.
  • If filtered, it can be used to clean the house and do laundry: its cleaning effectiveness is greater due to its mineral composition, thus saving both on drinking water and on the use of cleaning products.
  • It can be used for flushing the toilet, for personal hygiene, for washing dishes by hand.

Rainwater recovery, how it is collected
The recovery of rainwater consists of placing one or more tanks in the garden or in other strategic points: rainwater can also be collected in buckets or containers of different sizes around.
It is also possible to create an irrigation system, but this depends on the size of the garden and the containers we use.
If we want to resort to more spartan methods, we can resort to common plastic bottles cut to create a sort of funnel in order to allow easier collection of water.
There are sophisticated methods that involve the collection of rainwater through rain pipes.
The system consists of collecting rainwater that falls from the roof, through the rainwater collection system, then gutters and canals: in this case the water is stored in storage tanks.
Once collected, this water can then be reused for the garden or for domestic use.

In the design of the collection in tanks, it is necessary to install a system of pipes that allow the collection of the'rain water from drainage points such as roofs and gutters. These pipes will be connected to an accumulation tank, which will be equipped with a filter at the entrance to the tank, so that the water is stored already filtered.
In case of abundant rain, the system could go into saturation but thanks to a float positioned inside the tank it will be possible to detect the saturation level of the tank itself. In this regard, the system must be equipped with a drainage pipe for excess water, which must be directly introduced into the white water collection system: subsequently they will go into the sewer.
On the market we find two different types of tanks: underground or external ones.
